I have had, over the past few months, a few phone calls from parents inquiring about the legalities of homeschooling in Alabama as their kids play sports or involved in band in public schools. Simply put, yes, it is legal. However, there are stipulations. The student must attend two public school classes, one online and one in a public school classroom. Either way, it is not an extra-curricular free ride for sports and the arts. Your child is still subject to government indoctrination, just not in the usual saturated manner. Here is the link to the laws concerning Alabama:
Congratulations to Richard Dennis, who won the 2016 election for Elmore County Superintendent. Mr. Dennis will be an asset to our schools (all types).

HSLDA comes through for homeschoolers again. We commend Mobile area homeschoolers for their faithfulness to their kids and their boldness to stand against opposition. You are an example to all homeschoolers.
